What's the resales value after 1 year of use? Does it drop significantly more if there's a redesign?

have a look on ebay/craigslist as it depends on spec and condition

there hasnt been a redesign in about 5 years so one one knows
but it should still retain a relatively high price

Have you seen what people will pay for Powerbooks in pristine condition? $600, $900? Yeah, so I don't think you'll have any issues selling your MBP.
