A car based analogy of Snow Leopard

Ok, so people are doubting Snow Leopard because of the whole "no new features" thing. Here's a simple car-based analogy to help make it understandable.

OS X Leopard:

It's fast, it's sexy but it's not the best. We love it but it has it's flaws, and it's not the best it could be.

But now Apple is taking a year off to polish it's car, and refine it... and this is what it has...


OS X Snow Leopard:

A refined, sexy, polished, smooth car that runs like a dream and is as fast as thunder. It's smaller, thinner, and no doubt more impressive. This one's for the showroom, folks.


In the meantime...

Windows XP

They'll keep trying but they'll never get there 😉

(ok, the last bit was a joke, but you get what I'm saying with the first bit, right?)
 
Personally, I'd reverse those 2 windows pictures....XP was at least good, easy to use and stable.... After 3 months with Vista, I switched to a Mac 😉

(In that case, I should actually thank MS that they forced me to buy something GOOD instead of "what everybody else has" 🙂)
 
Yeah I agree with Gokyu. I liked XP way better than Vista. I searched "crysis" on the start menu search thingy and it found nothing. I tried the same thing on my XP and the search found it but it was still hard bring up the search application. 😛
 
Best thread of the day so far,just woke up had breaky got showered etc thought id have a quick browse before leaving for work & stumbled on this it's only 06.12am here and im smiling already 😀

xp is def a civic, great car, works well, and the second is what i think of vista
as i used it for 2 hours trying to get battlefield 2 to work, and i got so frustrated with all the security things and that you have to change the second you install it.

i mean, you just installed it, and you want me to change setting already because it can not run without me doing it?

edit: sry about the image sizes, i have not been on here in a while and forgot what you are supposed to put so it comes out a small image.
 
Snow Leopard's main point (what we know so far) is that it runs more efficiently. A better analogy might be something like the Nissan (Skyline) GT-R, which runs pretty damn quick and runs on a turboed six (compared to what? a 10 or 12 cylinder exotic?).

The Delorean is a actually good analogy for Vista. Looks pretty, imitates the exotics, but is damn slow, inefficient, and unreliable.

Actually the car at the bottom is a 360 Challenge Stradale. So Snow Leopard is going to be an older model of Leopard???

You'd think somebody with the Ferrari logo as an avatar would know better...
 
That poor little G20. What an eyesore.

The more I think about Snow Leopard the more I'm excited for it. I remember the days of OS8 and super-snappy GUI's. Let's bring some of that back eh?

I thought that might get a chuckle, what is that lil' roller skate lookin' thing called? The wii commercials are the ONLY place I have ever seen that thing...

In fact I had a similar one when I was a kid...

I was lucky enough to see a Murcielago in a parking garage when I was in Munich a few years back... *drools*

I was a little hesitant about paying for what would seem to be a minor update, but it looks like they're putting in ZFS as the new filesystem...I'm in for sure 😀:apple:

wow really? We see lots of them here in Toronto, probably as popular if not more than the Mini Cooper. It's just called the Smart Car and it's a sub division (or something) of Mercedes.
