Blue Line in Screen of Imac

I have an original intel 17" imac. I do have extended warranty so I'm covered, but I have a blue line going down the middle of the screen. Is this an issue with imacs? If so, what will be my down time? Thanks

will the genius bar look at it and if it needs a new LCD, will I have to give the computer up for a few weeks?
