Billboard reports Spanish consumers will soon be saddled with this anti-piracy tax on media devices, including the iPod. The levy - which goes into effect on 1 July - will be applied against sales of various products, specifically those capable of storing, playing, recording, or copying sounds and images.

I just can't believe that a tax has been created for "theoretical" piracy. This seems a little too Minority Report in a way.

But on the other hand, if you do pay a piracy tax, would that give you the right to actually share/download/use music, images, vids, that you didn't pay for legally?

I haven't read the article but I am completely confused why they're targeting Spanish consumers.
As for the tax, I agree (and what a great comparison) that it is very Minority Report of them.
