A literally dying breed.

One of my memories of Paul Simon is from when he hosted Saturday Night Live a couple of eons ago. Both the Senator and the songwriter turned up on stage when they announcer said, "...with guest host Paul Simon," and they had to decide which one of them had actually been invited.
