I use vlc and QuickTime+perian to play a movie. but I can clearly feel that the video is not fluent .I have also tried Mplayer , doesn't work neither...

What can be the problem?Thx

Well, it really depends on the movie info. I think that it is either caused by a lower frame rate of the movie, or that your computer is dropping frames. If you go into Quicktime and use Get Info (Apple + I), you should be able to get the frames per second (fps) and playing fps (they should be either ~24 or ~30). If you could also post the codecs and resolution, it would be helpful, it could be hardware limitations or the fact that OSX doesn't like some codecs.

EDIT: Sorry, double post, it never registered that it sent.

thanks~

I checked the frame rate and it is 25 per second
but still I can feel the movie was not fluently played.
and the videos shall not be the problem
cause I can play them in windows fluently

My CPU is core 2 duo 2.2GHz, so I think a 700M avi(XviD/DviX+AC3) should be a peace of cake..
