alright say i was to get an iphone and unlock it. if my computer has the latest version of itunes and i hook it up to my iphone would it brick ?

As long as you don't update the softare on the iPhone it should not brick/re-lock.

It will be fine as long as you don't upgrade the firmware. I'm not sure that will even brick it. It might just undo the hacks and such.
