Many have complained about Airport performance problems. The solutions are as follows:
1. Set your MTU settings to manual for both ethernet and wireless based on your router and ISP provider recommendations. !!!
2. Try manual DNS settings instead of DHCP.
HINT: both of the above can be returned to defaults with Software Update, making it look like the patch created a new problem.
3. Reset your keychains.
4. Use disk repair for correcting permissions.
I use Verizon Fios and once I got MTU 1492 for both wireless and ethernet there was a big improvement.
