Come on Apple, how long does it take?

The buzz has completely died down, no news, no rumours...
When do you think it's gonna happen?

They split up and music thankfully moved on.

Probably still holding out for more cash.

Don't forget that they're a bit miffed that Apple (Corps) was their record label back in the day, and they've been in court many times over :apple:'s further move into the music industry, using "their" name.

I've got all the Beatles albums on CD anyway, and if you really want The Beatles in your iPod, go buy! Revolver is pretty sweet.

Always like Rubber Soul better. Just something about "In My Life" that blows me away.

Anyways, for now CDs are the better option than DLing them anywhere. It's all about quality and 160kbs or even 256 kbs isn't cutting it.

I have mine encoded into iTunes at 320 VBR. Much nicer sound quality.

Sorry to bring an old topic back to the front. What's holding Apple and Apple Corp. back from releasing the tracks on iTunes? I read somewhere that they finally reached an agreement and the albums should be posted on iTunes soon...

I already own all of the albums on vinyl but having a remastered digital copy would be... priceless. ;)

Thank you! This is what I say everytime people bleat about not finding them on iTunes.

You can probably pick them up cheaper than they would be on iTMS, can rip them in the format of your choice, at the bit rate of your choice and don't have to shackle them with DRM.

It's probably Paul and Yoko holding it up.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you! Hahaha. But what I want is the remastered editions which will hopefully wind up on iTunes. Similar to Led Zeppelin being remastered and added onto iTunes.

Remastering? Pah, emperor's news clothes! If you're that into audio quality, start to hunt out good quality represses on vinyl of all the albums.

It IS a long time though; maybe they want to wait until Christmas so they can be Xmas number one again?

It will be all about the money. I don't think Led Zepp have put their songs on have they?

I've thought of that but at the same time I don't have the time to capture the vinyl and dump it to an MP3. I spend too much time on here! ;)

Hahahah, yes! Everything by Led Zeppelin is on iTunes. I already owned just about all of their music prior to them coming online but there were a few songs I did not have. :)

Don't get me started on this one.

I have never seen a more pathetic marketing company than Apple. It has been 21yrs since the CDs came out. How many remasters have we seen from just about every big name artist known to man?

One word...PATHETIC!

They won't offer it in lossless so what's the point? I have alot of their ablums on vinyl and they sound fantastic and I have their discography on FLAC and its good for ease of use but the vinyl is where its at.

Quit waiting on apple and just get it yourself.

Well 2 are dead. Lennon got killed by some psycho stalker, Harrison got cancer and died.

The other 2 are playing solo now. Ringo, is makinjg a career out of playing at casinos, and Paul just got divorced from a psycho b!tch, and is now playing the mandolin and working on a new album.

Paul, Ringo, and Yoko are still fighting over the electronic distribution. They only just recently started allowing shows like Pop Idol or American Idol to start using much of the library. It also doesn't help that much of the early work is owned by Michael Jackson/Sony and the others owned by Apple Corps/BMI. While the Apple Inc./Apple Corps. thing has been settled, Apple Corps still has internal problems (Yoko owns part of Apple Corp as John left it to her in his will, I'm unsure as to what happened to George's share).

Hopefully this can be settled soon, I hate having to buy media and then find a safe place to store it.

I think everyone here knows that... the question is : Where are the Beatles?!... for sale on iTunes.

Anyway, when it comes The Beatles, it has to be lossless for me, which is out of the question on iTunes. But if you've heard them on original vinyls... even lossless rips don't make the grade.

Yeah, gotta say that's one band iTunes really can't be missing

I for one am really excited about the remasters. The Beatles CD catalog was pressed just as CD was emerging as a new technology, and they are hardly up to today's mastered standards. Just hearing the "Love" remix/remasters was enough to whet my appetite for the full remastered catalog. I think people will be genuinely surprised by the difference they will hear. Come on Beatles!

Where is Beatles Band?

Any of you old enough to remember this from the NME letters page in the mid 1970s?

I really don't understand what the big hold-up is in getting The Beatles on iTunes. All the legal copyrights and paperwork should've been sorted by now. Both Paul McCartney and Steve Jobs said that it should have come out in the first half of this year, and still nothing. I'm hoping for a revelation on September 9th, but I doubt it'll happen. If they haven't done a big announcement with Radiohead, Led Zeppelin etc. then why do it with The Beatles?

So I just end up seeing if, every Tuesday, it's all been added to the catalogue. I do have most of their music in my library at the moment, but I'm still wanting the remastered versions. Has anyone heard anything that points to a release next month?

I am struck by how seldom their music is aired on radio these days (except for a veritable musical torrent when one of them passes on to the next life/world). In any case, I had most of their albums on vinyl, and in recent years, was unable to find an appropriate needle for my Sony LBT-D505 in order to play them (any suggestions, anyone?) so I actually hadn't heard the music in years, as I had not replaced the vinyl with CDs (Beethoven suffered the same fate, stunning old Deutsche Gramophon records, which were never updated to CD). Recently, I have heard some of their albums on CD - not having heard them in ages - and I have to say that some of the music has aged astonishingly well, especially the middle and later stuff (White Album - which I felt was brilliant in parts, Abbey Road, Revolver, Sgt Pepper's, and Rubber Soul) whereas I find some of the earlier stuff, while of its time, has not aged as well.

Still, it would be nice if the old dispute was fully resolved and the music made available on iTunes. Cheers

My friend told me that The Beatles are on the Zune store! Why go with that evil evil stupid brown piece of crap player, but not sell it on iTunes for the iPod?
