Looking for a Cellphone, Q's.

Hi, I am planning on getting a cellphone for my birthday in early July. I really liked Verizon when I was with them, but I see they are merging with Qwest. What does this mean? Should I hold up buying a cell phone? Will the plans change? Will the phones change?

Qwest doesnt offer cell phone service. Verizon is in the process of purchasing Alltel. Qwest has made a deal to resell Verizon's wireless service. Generally nothing is going to change, they will just use Verizons plans.

My mother also has a Qwest Wireless phone.

It looks like they are simply going to be offering verizon plans to their customers, i don't think anything is going to change with verizon.

Ok, which service do you guys recommend more? Verizon or Qwest? We are looking at a family plan for 4 phones.

I have verizon and love it-except for the sky high pricing. That being said, I wold look into what providers work best as to where you live-I had to switch from ATT to verizon because of poor call quality.
