I'm considering buying .mac, if I buy today or prior to mobileme being released will I be upgraded and have all the perks of a mobileme member? Just wondering might be a stupid question, just apple being apple usually there is some sort of cut off date and I was wondering if this applied to this as well.

Yes, all .mac accounts no matter when created will be morphed into mobileme accounts at the appropriate time.

if you went to the mobile me site, or did any reading here you'd know that all .Mac users get upgraded to mobileme when it comes out.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A102 Safari/419.3)
You will automatically get all the benefits from mobile me when they are released. I think that Steve Jobs mentioned this in the keynote at WWDC. I did go and ask an employee at the Apple store about this to confirm.

Thanks for the responses so quickly, yes I did some reading but there was no info on my question. I knew .mac users we being updated obviously from searching and front page but I was not sure if there was a deadline and if you would get all the perks mobile me offers (20 G.B storage etc.).

Bit harsh there. I'm in the same position and am waiting to upgrade my trial .mac until MobileMe is released in order to pay £10 less. I notice you didn't mention the price difference
There may not be a price difference where you're from, but not everyone is from the USA you know...
