you need to make it a GIF file. only image format that supports animations.

If you've got QT Pro, you can export each frame of the movie as a single image (export movie to image sequence) and then reassemble them in something like ImageReady.

Well, you can take screenshots manually of each frame...other than that, I don't know.

I actually did that with a few old "Conker's Bad Fur Day" .mov files I had on my old Win PC. I opened up Quicktime, pressed right to advance a frame, then went to edit>copy and pasted it into a graphic program and saved it. (I think it was Paint Shop Pro) From there I just animated it like I would any other GIF.

yeah, I used quicktime pro to grab the frames to make my 'tar....the file was a .mov, but its the exact same process

Thanks for the info. I was just wondering about this just the other day since I'll hit 500 posts sometime this month.

all you need is a copy of GIF Builder, I don't know where you can download it anymore though as the creators .mac site is no more. It's freeware though so I could probably email it to you if you like.
