If ever my PB goes to sleep with the lid open, -and- I go close the lid, it will not wake regardless of what I press.

Or

When I do a keyboard sleep (Apple+Option+Eject) and then close the lid it will not open.

Otherise, if i just close the lid there are no problems. Or if I leave the lid open while sleep happens it doesn't wake up.

I need to close the lid when I take it to school, after using it.

There are no USB devices attached. It doesn't matter wheter I'm using cord or battery power.

I'm using 10.3.1 with 256 MB Ram. With no programs running...

Ideas?

Only suggestion I can think of is resetting the power manager. Look at Apple's support site for info on your particular model. You could also try resetting PRAM and repairing permissions, but I would start with the power manager.

What buttons have you tried pressing?

No, this never got fixed.

I've tried PRAM, fsck etc etc etc...

And I would press all of the buttons one at a time. But it only seems to happen once in a blue moon now...

My 12" 1 Ghz PB does the same thing. 3 times today actually. It seems to have gotten worse over the last few weeks. If you find a definite fix, please post it here.

Regards,
Gus

P.S. Yes, I've repaired permissions, etc.

ok, this may have fixed it? I went to power saver options. I had them set to highest performance, but switched to custom settings so I could check the let my computer sleep mode. ON the highest setting option, it says the computer never sleeps. maybe give this a try? it worked both times my computer went to sleep.

Also, update to 10.3.2, if you haven't already.

And do a permissions repair right afterwards...
