I've spent multiple hours talking to apple about this, but have had no luck, so I thought i'd try these forums.
I'm trying to set up multiple usb modems on a mac mini running leopard. I don't want to dial out on these modems, they're being put in place to receive faxes. I can plug one modem in, and configure it without any issue. For what it's worth, it shows up in system profiler as a standard "Apple USB Modem" or something to that extent. The device shows up as /dev/cu.usbmodem if that means anything.
My problem is that when I plug in a second or a third modem, it seems as though print & fax doesn't recognize that there are multiple modem attached. System Profiler shows multiple instances of "Apple USB Modem", which is expected, but /dev still shows only one usb modem. It seems that Print & Fax doesn't know that I have more than one, and can't deal with it.
Have any of you dealt with this before? Any help would be appreciated, as I can't seem to get multiple modems working, and would hate to buy multiple mac minis to support multiple fax lines.
