Hey guys, I recently dropped my 3 year old Powerbook on the ground with its case on, and this seemed to have dislodged the standard 512 mb of RAM it has in it. When I turn it on it made a beeping noise, and the little light in the front would signal 3 times. I called and said basically I would have to take apart the entire thing. So I went home and took out as many screws as I could, but I couldn't take the top 2 screws on the keyboard near the screen. But I turned on the powerbook anyway and it worked! this was only temporary though, because it sometimes will stop for no reason, and repeat the problem. A quick fix for this right now is that I left the bottom plate where you install more RAM open, so I just play with the ram from there, and sometimes it will work. My question is how do I fix this? By adding another 512 mb will that save me from taking it apart again? BEcause after I saw it working I went back through the long process of screwing everything back together again, and I dont want to repeat that. Thanks!

Try putting your stick of ram in the other slot

I know that when I upgraded the ram on my macbook, the ram chip was really hard to push in. I almost just thought that it was in and put it back together. Not convinced, I used the plastic handle of my screwdriver and pushed real hard on the ram chip and it popped into place. So my point is check your ram chip very good. Good Luck.
