hey. so my order should arrive tomorrow.
like i said in the subject line, i'm a switcher.
this is my first mac in many many years.
where do i find the right-click functions? like, "save image" or "save target"?
i know there have to be analogs on the mac, just don't know what they are.
oh-- and i'm getting an iBook, so i won't be able to use an external mouse all the time. sometimes yes, but often it'll just be the trackpad.

Easy: Hold down the control key when you click.
An external 2+ button mouse is another option, as you already know, and there are shareware programs that can probably add functionality like "tap to command-click" or something like that, but the ol' command key is the way it was designed to work.

Or, just buy a two button mouse. OS X is pretty much compatible any Windows mouse.

You can also get SideTrack http://www.ragingmenace.com/software/sidetrack/index.html
which allows you to tap your trackpad instead of right-click.

Get a Kensington Studio Mouse it has one best config. mouse software out there.
I've used mine for over 3 months now and never have had issue with it. I'm glad I followed MacAddicts review of it.

Click on the link (graphic etc) and keep the button held down for a few seconds. A contextual menu will then popup and you can choose your action.

If you do get a mouse for your laptop, get a wireless one, or one that has a retractable cord. Any 2 button mouse made recently should work fine.

you can always click and drag an image from Safari to the desktop.

It works for me in Safari. Right-click the link and download link to disk. The MP3 just downloaded to the desktop.

okay, i get it in firebird. but in this case, on that particular website, it won't work in firebird. any idea why that might be? i don't think it's a security setting.

I bought a Logitech MX300 optical mouse last Christmas for my old peecee. I bought an iMac 2 weeks ago, I just plugged it in and it worked like it was supposed to, scroll wheel and right click.

It might be a glitch in firebird?
