How does Applecare work on an iPhone purchased from ebay?

I purchased a 16gb iPhone on ebay 2 weeks ago. The phone itself is only 2 months old. How do I go about setting applecare up for my iPhone? Also, is there any recipt or proof of purchase required for applecare?

No proof of purchase required, AppleCare will be effective from the date of the original purchase. It takes a few minutes, and you'll receive a confirmation email from AppleCare and you'll be able to view your AppleCare Agreement a few minutes later...:cool:

the original owner has to transfer it over to you. I believe the seller may need your information in order to complete the transfer.
