Hi
have just changed from a core duo MacBook to a core 2 duo MacBook and have been running Time Machine backups since February.
I would really like to keep the backups going on the new machine - and to be able to use Time Machine to go back to February.
I know Time Machine uses the ethernet MAC address to identify what machine it is backing up.
Has anyone found a simple method of fooling Time Machine into thinking that it is still backing up the same Mac.
I have yet to use Time Machine with the new MacBook but have cloned the drive so the computer name's are the same - just the MAC address that is different.
