My vote can make a difference.

OK well maybe not, but it's interesting to see how I compare with others in this community.

Pretty much as often as I'm able. It only takes a few seconds out of my day....

this has to be an all time low among polls:

A poll about a poll?!

somebody is really bored!

I usually answer every day, but occasionally I don't, whether it be due to being away from the computer that day, or just not being interested in the poll content. However, most polls have a "not interested"/"no preference" type of option, so I usually choose that if I'm not interested, rather than ignore the poll completely.

I love MacPolls. I post everyday. It's a great way to find out what other people do/have/want.

macrumours is command-4 in my safari, and therefore is the site i frequent 4th most often. So i check it about a dozen times a day. (You don't want to know how many times i check my livejournal) And everytime there is a new poll up, most likely, I am one of the first votes in there.

I was really hoping to see a "I never vote on a MacPolls" option. Now that would be deliciously ironic.

I concur on the pick a number. I thought it was VERY interesting.

But what is a few times? How is that different from once or twice? It seems all the same to me!

I almost always vote though I don't always post a comment. It really depends on if I have something to say on the subject or not. (For example on the pick a number I didn't post. What else was there to say?)

LIARS! :p

477 liars so far, which is 42.10% of us so far. How can you vote daily when the poll is not a daily poll but only every weekday? :D

I vote every weekday; its the first thing I do each weekday. I wish they'd make it a daily poll instead of just each weekday.

I usually read the poll here in the forum then the replies in the forum. I usually forget to actually click the link to place a vote. Kinda dumb uh?

Me too, but I knew the answer! ;)

It's a common party "trick", get someone to quickly count from 20 to 1, then rapidly ask them the following questions:

Pick a number between 1 and 10 (they'll answer 7)
Name a tool (hammer)
Pick a number between 1 and 5 (3)
Name a vegetable (carrot)

There are others too that I don't recall. Especially if you have the answers written down, it'll impress the kiddies!

Tomorrow's poll is going to be, "Did you vote in yesterdays' poll?" That would be a poll about a poll about a poll!

But, seriously, folks, these non-Mac-related polls are OK from time to time, but three or four in a row is getting kind of ridiculous.

I'd like to see the next non-Mac-related poll being "Who is the best James Bond?" with all seven choices being George Lazenby since that is a fundamental metaphysical certain truth and no other choice is possible.*

*;-) I'm just kidding, I didn't even see the one with George Lazenby in it.

I think that some of the off topic polls are good, and fun. But what I'd like to see is a poll asking "If you own a PDA, what kind, and how often do you sync? And maybe, do you use iSync?

I dunno, just more interesting questions.

I vote nearly every time by the way.

Arg a Hypocritical Poll!

Lets have a vote on how often you vote, mwhahah!

How about 'What are Mac users in need of? :
Games
Better Product Making Support (Product Devolpment)
ect...'

I vote daily... because, arg whatever.

I rarely vote on MacPolls, because by the time I want to cast my vote, most of the polls are already closed. I have yet to see a "Note: Poll closes in [48] hours after opening" type of message at MacPolls.com to even let me know when the hell they close. So when I get to a poll and find out that it's already closed, I get real pissed off, and I'm sick of the lack of advanced notice. Why the hell can't they stay open forever (or even a month or two)? What reason is there for having a poll close in a specified amount of time when 200 people/day still visit the damn thing?

Also, for a poll question, such as "What do ou think of the new G4 iBooks?" keep the ********** poll open for a while and open to discussion. As people keep voting over time, the initial "WOW" and "WTF?" opinions will level out to some, how do I say, central asymptote of overall opinion. That way, whoever tracks down the time/date of each individual vote (maybe even by which ISP) can work on some solid probability calculus and generate some quality statistics.

In my opinion, this poll about polls isn't the worst. Any political polls on MacRumors suggest a difference in opinion about several areas of politics...the more general the question, the more open the discussion is to flamewars, not flame posts, but stage 4 flamewars. How personal will someone take option A? What will be the reaction to the person voting for option B (quite the opposite of option A)? Such polls should be altogether disregarded and nonexistant, as they involve --> politics. I think there is a section on MacRumors strictly for politics (and ONLY one open section for politics). That is where potential polls, even if manually created, belong.

Actually, I can't see how people can say this poll is the lowest of all polls, if people like to sit on their ass and complain about it, contributing to its discussion.

So to the few readers of this extended post complaining about how bad of an "idea" a poll about polls is, be glad that you got your vote in and contributed to the discussion before the poll closed.
