Anyone notice on those pictures of the remote monitering software it says "...Mac OS X Server 10.1.5" So that means the actual update (NOT the version you got off Hotline...:D) must be coming out soon...

You have been able to get it from Hotline/Carracho servers for ages, as u can get OSX.2

It has not been offically launched yet.

probably not much... considering that apple mentioned it on a network app, it porbably is jus a small net. update or sumthin...

most 0.0.1 updates are very minimal

for those working on NT networks (MANY MANY people)
10.1.5 is a major development that we have been waiting for since the release of OSX.

The ability to use classic software on an NT server without crashing the finder and or apps.

10.1.4 addressed some of the issues, but 10.1.5 seems to fix most of the bugs. Still some issues as to file sizes and corruption of files under 10.1.5. But from all advanced reports it is at least working. Unlike all previous OSX releases.

On the point of paying... 10.1.5 must come out before 10.2 if apple wants to charge for jaguar inorder to aviod lawsuits. Apple promissed legacy support under OSX, but as to date they have been unable to completely deliver on this promiss. If they do not release 10.1.5 for free before they charge for 10.2, then they will esentially be charging their customers twice for the same service. Look for class action suits if they try this.

hehe, yup 10.2 jaguar (not b11) & 10.1.5 are both on my carracho server :P Just one more reason to suck-up to me :P

10.2 has some network issues. 10.1.5 works like a charm :)

Just installed 10.1.5 and it really makes a huge difference in several of my classic apps. especially the Vector based programs (specifically Powercadd). I can now scroll the screen like it should in OS9.x and everything seems just a little more snappier, however that may just be due to the system enhancements being run again, though Powercadd never ran so quickly! Just thought I'd give a heads up for the rest of you B&W users.

anyways...what should I do? we could email the server address...I'd hate to get in mo trouble just cause apple was sniffing around, in any instance, genie is much quicker, I mentioned OS9 is much snappier, though I did have one Finder crash several hours ago (effected nothing else)...If 10.2 is any better, wow! that would rock!

this ? is a lil off topic, but how big are the osx updates usually (estimate) like the updates going from (lets just say) 10.1.3 to 10.1.4?

Some are as much as 37 MB such as the 10.1.3 combined updater for any Mac OS X 10.1 prior. The 10.1.4 updater though is only 1.7MB. All you may find on the web at:

You don't need to use the Software Updater program, and instead can use your resumable downloading web browser download manager. Sometimes updates appear in the Software Update several days before they appear on this page. I would hold off till they actually appear on this page, as Apple may find a bug or two and has been known to remove a software from the Software Updater after first putting it up. But once it is on their webpage, that is the software they want you to use.
