View Full Version : iPhone Pre-Release Timeline!

So thinking back to last years launch, on what days previous to the launch did the Guided Tour and other announcements (glass and such) happen? If I remember right it was Tuesdays/Thursdays before. Maybe they are following a similar pattern but i can't remember that far back. Any ideas? Maybe an announcement tomorrow?

What else are you expecting to be announced? The only thing is Apple stores purchase procedures for July 11th. And its been pretty well decided that Apple will announce that to the stores in July 6th.

I believe the only announcements left are when the new Itunes update is being released, and when the iphone update 2.0 is going to be released to 1st gen iphone users.

it just popped into my head that last years guided tour was on a tuesday/thursday before the launch, nothing more than that.

yeah, the new iTunes for the original iPhone was released on iDay as well

June 13: "Coming June 29, 6PM."
June 18: Glass surface & improved battery life.
June 20: YouTube
June 22: Guided tour & site redesign
June 26: Rate plans announced & first reviews published
June 28: Info regarding launch at stores announced
June 29: iPhone is released

Sweet, thats exactly what i was looking for. I guess the only thing i am anticipating is the early reviews if they do that again

so I was thinking that given this is an international rollout this time, doesnt the app store and mobile me have to be released on the 10th in the US (to coincide with 7am launch times around the world)? I don't think that apple would want to pass up publicity of launching these items in off-hours so I would guess a Monday or Tuesday launch of mobile me and a Thursday launch of iPhone 2.0 software including app store. Just makes sense...
