I have an optonline email address, and a .mac one. I have them both set up in Mail. I have had no problems for years. I bought a Mac Pro a few months ago and I have had no luck with Mail since. My optonline mail isn't a problem. And receiving .mac mail isn't a problem either. Its sending .mac mail. Every time I get a pop up saying that "Cannot send message using the server smtp.mac.com" and gives me the option to try later, or switch to my optonline account.

I have checked my settings a million times. They are no different than that of my MacBook and the MacBook is fine. After all, I got my Mail settings on the Mac Pro by syncing with .mac. So what is wrong?

I have incoming mail set to mail.mac.com. Outgoing mail set to smtp.mac.com and my user name and passwords are the same as the laptop. Still no luck. I just can not send mail from my .mac mail address. I can however send it through the web interface.
