Hello,

Has anybody seen or heard of this? supposedly it can sim unlock phones without messing with the firmware?

I would love to be able to SIM unlock my iPhone without messing with the firmware.

Has anybody tried this? is it real?

It's not new.. it was used on the original iphone before the unlocks became available - they've just rebranded the idea.. and good luck to them (seems a reasonable price IMO).

But since you can't get an iphone without a contract it's a bit of a moot point...

can you explain how it works? I'm interested because I live in a country with no iPhone service provider, and I would prefer not jail break my iphone but just be able to use it with my current carrier.

It only says iPhone 1.1.3. No 1.1.4 (current) or 2.0 (next week).

I'm not sure you need to jailbreak to unlock. However I've never tried to do it that way.

I heard great things about it. I am not sure if it works for the iPhone 2.0, but it works for pretty much everything else.

Yessim is working, but not very stable. I recommand Universal Sim, it runs much faster and never makes any problems.

None of these work well as far as I know.

Universal Sim is now fully working. check the video and see how the 3G function lets you browse the net with good speed. No other card can prove to support 3G. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbD-92cta-M

A bit of RESEARCH will give you a better idea, some only work for a few days then stop. Some are very unstable etc

Not for people who travel overseas and want to swap out the SIM card to avoid roaming charges...

I am on the brink of getting a sim chip, or whatever you may call it.

I've been eyeing RebelSIM, simply because it is a MR sponsor, and I would like to support the site.

Any experiences? Is anyone actually using a sim kit to unlock the iPhone 3G?
