Right, mega karma for anyone who can help me sort this bastard out.

The situation used to be like this (in the UK):

Aerial / dish connected to UK set-top box via RF cable. Set top box connected to DVD-Recorder with SCART, DVD-R then connected to TV via second SCART. Basically, everything daisy-chained.

I never paid much attention to how they were connected, it always seemed to 'just work'.

Watch telly. Fine. Turn on DVD-R, TV would switch automatically to VD channel, show DVD splash screen. Watch DVD. Fine. Turn DVD disc off, you can see the TV picture. The DVD-R is 'seeing' the TV signal, allowing me to record from TV to DVD. Turn DVD-R box off, switches back to TV channel.

That's how it used to work.

Do you think I can replicate the situation here in Germany? Can I ****.

What I've got on the back of the German STB are RF in, then two SCARTS, one labelled TV, the other VCR.

On the back of the DVD-R I've got two SCARTS, labelled Euro AV1, Euro AV2

On the back of the telly, two SCARTS, AV1 and AV2

How do I connect this lot up to give me the situation described above? It seems I've tried every possible combination. The closest I got was switching automatically from TV to DVD-R when latter is switched on. But no TV picture when DVD-R is on, but no disc playing.

The Tour de France starts today, and I want to record the mountain stages...:mad::mad::mad::mad:

TIA,
