iPod ipod classic wont display some music

when i sync my ipod classic to my macbook it loads every song ive got on my itunes! but wen i go to certain artists they dont show in the artists option. however if i go into the album or search for the songs i find they are on the ipod, just not in the artists bit

how do i get around this?!?

Turn off compilations. Sometimes albums are set with a compilation tag, and the ipod will not show any songs tagged as a compilation under the artist menu.
