Transferring data / contacts from 2g iphone to 3g iphone

Does anyone know what to do to transfer contracts, data, etc to the new 3g iphone? as well as removing all data on the old iphone?

I'm assuming you plug your new phone in and as part of the activation/initialisation process it will ask you if you want to transfer your data from your "old" phone. Actually, even if it doesn't, it won't matter as you can just select to sync your contacts, bookmarks etc via iTunes which will be up to date anyway.

Then just do a restore on your old one.
