I called the AT&T store in the Galleria Mall, Middletown, NY and the recording confirmed an 8am opening, this Friday, July 11th.
As AT&T service is sketchy in this area, I'm hoping the line will be short waiting to get the new 3G.

Any one else planning getting on-line early in Middletown?

Poughkeepsie ny here. Planning on going to the att store on 44 by starbucks. Not sure about a line tho... We still don't have 3g coverage here, so people may not care. Going to stop by night before and see if anyone is waiting. If not then I'll come early on the 11th... Like 5 am?? I've been waiting for this for a year now, and I'm just so excited about the new phone that I'm willing to get it even tho we won't have 3g until September. Does Middletown even have 3 g coverage?

This At&t store had only 40 phones! I managed to get one of the last white ones. But many people left very disappointed.

I can't believe I did this......showed up at 2:30am and waited with folks already there since 12. First guy was there at 12, and ended up not being able to get one for whatever reason. I was fourth in line tho, and walked out of the store with the first one. Our Att had a similar amount in stock. I'm glad I waited tho. LOL.

Hi Katt505.... couple questions...
- How do you like your new phone?
- Did they have many in stock at the AT&T store on 44?
- Any signs of 3G around here?

I live in Poughkeepsie and am trying to decide if I want to upgrade from the original iPhone to iPhone 3G... One thing I'm finding, and I never thought this would happen, is I need more space (have an 8GB) with all these apps, movies, etc. (had to clear off some music to make room!) Other than that, the only benefit would be GPS I think since 3G is still nonexistent around here.
