The "new" aluminum 15" 1.25 looks awesome in every way......and I've seen some speculation that apple may introduce a moderate speed increase for its pb soon, but aside from straight processor speed, is there any other upgrades they are likely to add to the PBs if they do see an update in the next two months? It seems tht the current models check all the boxes in terms of ports, HD size, ram capacity, etc. Any thoughts?

perhaps longer battery life and/or faster hard-drives. those are the two things people seem to be most wishing for.

can't think of much they could do besides knock the price down up the speed slightly maybe a 128mb ati 9600, the last revision adding airport extreme internal bluetooth the backlight keyboard DDR memory bigger and faster hard drives better video usb 2 etc was quite a lot

They could make the RAM faster, but that would be useless considering the pathetic front side bus speeds of the G4. Graphics upgrades are doubtful, at least until the graphics in the PowerMacs are updated. THe graphics in Apple's PowerBooks have always closely mirrored the standard graphics in the PowerMacs.

One possibility is an upgraded screen on the Powerbooks to compete with the high resolutions found on most PC notebooks.

I doubt we see any significant upgrades to Powerbooks until G5 Powerbooks are released.
