So, is there any interest this time around? I recall the Summit's Apple Store had a line about 100-people deep last year. There doesn't seem to be as much intensity this time around, at least not in Birmingham. I think I'll stop by the Apple Store after work. Last year I was first in line at the Fairfield AT&T store. That was a fun day. Doubt there will be any lines this year, though.

I think I'll be strolling up to an AT&T store a bit before 8AM instead of the Apple Store. Hopefully that works out ok.
Good luck at the Apple Store though, I may roll up there later in the day accessory shopping.

I work in Homewood so I'll probably head over to the AT&T store over my lunch break to grab mine. Hope that works out! I have to be at work at 7 so before work is out for me.

No one in line this morning at 6:45 when I drove past the AT&T store off Lakeshore. Things look good for an 11:00 iphone purchase. Of course, I STILL have to decide between white and black.

Just a head's up: I arrived at the Wildwood AT&T at 7:35. Waited until 8:45 when they told us they sold out. There were approximately 100 people in line in front of me, and it looked like they ran out about 15-20 people ahead of me (boo):(.
They were taking orders to arrive in 7-10 days, but also said they'd be getting more over the next few days.

I was at the Summit last year and posted photos here and made the Front page for a couple of hours.
Had to be at work early this morning and was not able to go this time.
Any report of The Summit Apple Store's Stock?

I'm not sure about the Summit. I had thought about trying there on the way home at 3. I'm not hopeful though.

Att store in Trussville is out of stock, I'm out of lucky because it's very closer since I was walked into 1st line at around 10:30 am then walked in and one rep said it's out of stock, I was upset at several men who cut on line, we are on order to pick it up within 7-10 days.
Att store in Roebuck/Huffman area (on Parkway) is possibly to sold out too.
Computer system at att store in Trussville is down for about hour at after 10:30 am, I was wait so long to get work.

My wife and I were first in line at the AT&T store in Hoover. My wife's purchase went smoothly, but I first got caught by the Apple server crash. Then when i finally did get through Apple I find out that the AT&T store had assigned a number to our account for my phone, but didn't actually tie it to an iPhone. About 3:30PM AT&T finally stops blaming Apple and fixes it, but they only fixed the voice calling.
Finally about 5:15 I actually get data too
But the AT&T store in Hoover got 50 according to the girl that setup our account. There were 65 people in line when they first counted at 7 and several more jumped in line prior to 8.
Went to the Summit after work, probably about 6:30PM and the line still stretched at least a couple hundred deep.
I tried to go in and buy some accessories, but they wouldn't let me in the door saying all their employees were dedicated to activating iPhones for the rest of the evening. But of course there were a couple people in there shopping laptops so apparently it just depended on how much money you were willing to spend.
Probably should have really raised hell over that, but oh well.

I went by today to get mine exchanged since i had a craked white case and I talked to my source there and he said no "sale" was available. They phone only stock for defective units so they swap out but that is limited too. I went in Monday and they had to order my replacement phone which came in today. I didn't think that was too bad considering the shortage. I guess they expedite that kind stuff.
