Hey people,
Just wondering if we'd be able to upload our own apps via XCode to our iPod touch with firmware 2.0 once it's publicly released? Not sure if a developer version of 2.0 is needed (for debugging hooks?).
Thanks
there will probably be a "app" folder that you could just drop your app in, and it would sync over

You still need a developer certificate to run your own apps on the device. This won't change just because 2.0 goes public.

as far as I know all you can do with xcode is test the apps on the touch/iPhone via usb for debugging purpose (this does not upload the app to device just simulates).
to have an app on your device you would need to go through the official route of submitting to apple

Ah ok, if you do need to be on the developer program to upload apps, then it would probably be a good reason to jailbreak. Was hoping 2.0 would provide a way for normal users to make test apps and upload/install it on their own iPod touch.
