Apple says I cannot use an AppleTV on the original Aiport base station. Is that true? What if the content other than my iTunes library is stored on the AppleTV so I'm not streaming large video files? Got to say, my base station has been a real work horse -- running strong for almost 8 yrs and never a problem!

If you sync all your content rather than stream, then the speed of your router won't make a difference. Or, you can just stream your music and photos and sync your video, since it is video that will likely choke up your 802.11b Airport. Of course, this all depends on how much disk space your videos take up.

Whatever you decide, do the initial sync over ethernet - it is MUCH faster than doing it wirelessly.
