Refurb Macbook - No Airport at all!

I've searched around and realize there are issues with Airport on the Macbook, but I just got a refurb Macbook today and Airport seems to not work at all. Scanning for networks doesn't turn anything up - not my network (from Time Capsule) or any of the neighbors that I know are in range (and that my iPhone and PowerMac both can detect).

Did I get a bad Mac? Is there some obscure setting I'm missing?

I connected with ethernet and ran all updates - running 10.5.4

Fixed!

Called Apple - they had me drag the Airport preference file out to the desktop and restart. Fixed the problem.
