How to get clips from dvd to use in home movie idvd

I want to take video clips from a dvd and use them in a dvd movie that i make in idvd.....can this be done???

Yes it's possible, but it's illegal to do so from a commercial dvd (you will be breaking a digital encryption format to do so)

But i just want to use them in my home video.....i already bought the dvd
im not going to resell the dvd's
