Just in the last 24hrs, my iBook has shut down suddenly five or six times. When I turn it on again, the date and time have changed to 10am January 1, 1970.

Anyone else experiencing this? And if so, any solutions?
 
thats the Unix Epoch time! 😱

was Mac OS are you running? i think there was an update ages ago to address this. make sure your iBook is running the latest software by running Software Update.
 
Thanks - I have OS X 10.4.11, which I think is as current as I can get. I did read about the whole Linux start date thing.
