Arn links to it on the front page: Foreflight mobile (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewArtist?id=283512699): $69.99

Seems to me if you need these apps you'd be willing to pay for them.

Yeah, Foreflight Mobile looks like the most expensive so far. But that's targetted to a specific group.

MyAccountsToGo (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=284992996&mt=8)- seems to be the most expensive app I can find...

Whatever you do...DO NOT click on "Buy App". That would be sad..:o

That would be a horrible mistake if one actually buys that by accident. Or if one of your friends buys that while they are on your iPhone...

Most expensive doesn't necessarily equate to worst.

FWIW, I'm delighted to see these professional applications aimed at business. It bodes well for everyone. Let the masses vote with their wallet. Supply and demand rules... :)

well, I think the price should justify the application. Depending on how good it is and whether it's feasible to have it on my iPhone, I'll buy it too.

There's quite a few apps now in the App Store that are going for more than $99 US, but they do all seem like professional applications geared towards their respective industries and are getting good reviews by the professionals that would actually use those apps (and of course are getting one star reviews from the clueless people who don't understand how a "cell phone app" can be that expensive, without even knowing what the app is or does. They just don't get it.)

There are number of paid apps available for iPhone/iPad. So it depends on you that which kind of apps you like. For example I am preparations for the exams of Law and in my field BarMax CA is most expensive app @ $999.99 . Last week I bought this app.

I thought the price was an error. Then just for fun, I went back the next day to grab the link to show a friend.

Day 2 It was on "sale" for 495.00, but I got interupted by a phone call and one thing led to another, yes, you guessed it, I forgot to grab the link.

Day 3 Went back to it and it was "Free" for that day only, so I downloaded it. That's as far as I got since once I opened it, they wanted so much personal info I wasn't about to touch it. Deleted that as quick as I could...

how funny :D

Its an old story that I read in a forum, and it said that for the first time someone made an app of $999 and placed it on iTunes, and its name was quite catchy, and it was reported that some 6 people bought it before itunes closed down that app. The reason was that the app had nothing in it, it was just a simple app, you just had to open the app and it displayed, you are awesome. And there was nothing more inside that, but whatever may be the case, the developers did earned what they deserved!

The app was called "I Am Rich"

From the description of the app:

*Please note: Black is the premium version, the first ‘Millionaire’s App’. Upon download, prospective members will be required to certify they are High Net Worth Individuals with assets and/or income in excess of £1 million. Upon completion each approved member will be eligible for a personal consultation to explore how iVIP Ltd. can manage their VIP lifestyle.

I'm not sure I know what that means but I definitely don't have £1 million.

@ seanpercival – Are you satisfied with the BarMax? Any feedbacks?
The thing is my sister has first mentioned this app, while she was reviewing for her Bar Exams. She then said that some of her “financially capable” law school buddies got the said app and was very disappointed. The size is big, I’m not sure of how big it is, but in the end her buddies still went back to the traditional way of reviewing with the old school Law books which what they've used through the years during their Law proper. Even the books they've used in their pre-law years were well-utilized!

Fortunately, she passed the test, first take! :D And the best part is she (and my folks!) didn’t need to spend a thousand bucks for that app. :D

Good luck on your exams and hope that this app will enhance your review! But again discipline and focus are the keys! :)

----------

You guys are right, an app of this price is intended for a specific market, could be for businesses who can fund the costs. Or maybe if you’re overflowing with money, a status symbol perhaps. To be fair, any reason in purchasing it is justifiable. However, as users, I hope we get covered. I think it would be very helpful that developers should have a demo on high-end apps so as to show the users the details of it. Some sorta guarantee for the potential buyers. I mean, $ 1,000 is $ 1,000!
