G5 Tech Question and Panther question

Hello,

I was wondering if I could get some help concerning the G5 and Panther. I would like to know if the G5 will run OS9 if I were to reformat the hard drive? (I'm asking because of the G5 being 64 bit and there being a problem with that and OS9)

Does Panther allow you to run classic mode? I heard that Panther was going to discontinue Classic mode.

In short:

G5 cannot boot Mac OS 9.
G5 does support Classic under Panther, and Jaguar.
Classic will be supported for some time to come, I think.
