What would you recommend for under $500?

As of now the Lacie electron blue display is looking pretty good.

I use Photoshop and Final Cut Pro 3 a lot and am feeling cramped on my 15 inch apple studio display.

thanks.

For a high quality monitor the Lacies are extemely hard to beat. They may be the best but it's a competitive industry.

As for the most screen area for the buck you can't beat a good old mature technology like the CRT.

i have a sony multiscan G410 CRT 19". it has smilar specs to the lacie for $378. i paid for $350 for mine. the lacie has a nice hood and ability for blueye vision which is a nice touch. i never used a lacie before, but i am very happy for my multiscan G410. i must say that lacie monitors look juicey. what every you do, stick with a crt you don't want to be editing on anything but a CRT.
