What is the point of the "Contacts" app?

Probably to get to your contacts with one click rather than having to click through the Phone app.
The way I see it this app is probably more for corporations rather than the normal everyday user. Corporations have thousands of employees and they aren't necessarilly your phone contacts. But I could be wrong.
^^^ this, saves pressing phone button to get there. ipod touch has it, so why shouldn't the phone too?
