Unlocked iPhone to legally work in Canada?

I bought the first iphone and unlocked it in Canada. I was wondering that since the iphone will be legally available here, can i upgrade to 2.0 without getting bricked? I value this phone a lot and hope this is possible. Thank you very much!

i did the same thing but danno if it will be bricked if i try to get at 2.0 s/w update!!!!!!!! anybody know something??😡🙁😀😱😕🙄:apple:
 
we might find out tomorrow? or whenever the iphone 2.0 firmware comes out. Any info will be awesome!
