iPhone syncing Problem

Ok so I upgraded to iTunes 7.7 and downloaded the 2.0 firmware and even put apps on my phone, but everytime I sync my phone to my computer it says 'backing up iPhone' and it takes a good 30 minutes. The new firmware and apps are great, but the back up takes forever and it has never done that before. Anyone else having this problem?

I have this problem...I always "x" out of the backup but it still syncs everything after that. I hope they fix this soon.

WHy is it that when you just click sync it does it so quickly, but every once in a while when you plug the phone in it does an extremely long back up. Doesn't it create a backup every time it syncs things?

Im going to get the official 2.0 update for the first generation iPhone and hopefully that will fix the problem
