View Full Version : [Humor] Plane carrying 3g iPhones crashes into Apples 'server' building.

The day turned sour for Apple today as a plane carrying a huge shipment of 20 3G iPhones crashed into Apples HQ in Cupertino, California. The plane was reportedly struggling to cope with the weight of its payload and was trying to make an emergency landing, ironically next to the Apple HQ. Unfortunately the pilot lost control and the plane ploughed into the main server building that houses MobileMe servers and the iTunes music store, effectively wiping out both services.
The repercussions of this unfortunate event mean there is a distinct lack of iPhones and major problems with MobileMe and the iTunes MusicStore, particularly the iPhone activation section. One Apple employee said "a screw from one of the planes wings has hit the exact place on the harddrive that contains the iPhone activation module. We need a new 5GB drive before we can continue. Steve Jobs is on his way to PC world right now."
An eyewitness that saw the plane crash said "Everyone could see what was going to happen. We watched but couldn't do anything about it. Then boom... all hell broke loose".
EDIT: Further reports are coming in that while the plane was struggling to maintain height, it inadvertently wiped out a section of phone lines running adjacent to 'The Loop'. People struggling to activate their iPhones are now having trouble getting through to Apples Technical support call centre.

Yeah, thanks to the pilot I have a bricked iPhone right now since I can't seem to access the iTunes store. Thanks.

That was beautiful. I suppose I wouldn't be so tickled if I had been in line for an iPhone, but that may be the funniest thing I've read this week.
As an aside, I'm curious to see if Apple goes after the next MS launch flop like they used to.

These are indeed a terrible and unforeseen sequence of shockingly unlikely events. I blame the Terrorists™.

Further to the reports regarding the phone lines this photo was taken by a quick handed Nokia N95 user who managed to snap the plane tangled in the wires just before the pilot managed to untangle it and continue on to Cupertino.

It just hit the AP wire. Should be showing up on all news source in 5..4..3..2..
Peace

I think the plane skirted the local AP office before it hit the servers because news is barely trickling in at this time.
Or it could be my AP news app isn't working due to the iTunes servers.

Funny question: can you get the 8GB iPhone in white too or is that color reserved just for the 16GB iPhone?
