Ok, some of you may have witnessed this. I won't mention which store but I showed up at around 10AM.
I told the front door person that I wanted to buy a laptop and I was let in. I began to casually browse the iphone accessories and a young women asked if I had been helped yet. I said no and quickly asked for the 16gb iphone.
The servers were down so I paid and walked out of the store.
Suddenly a guy in line points at me and yells "HEY, THIS GUY JUST CUT!"
I turned around and took off running to my car with about 15-20 people chasing me. They were telling me that I was going to get curb stomped, beaten, etc..
As I rounded into the parking lot a security car drove up. The guy asked what was going on, I quickly said, "these guys are nuts!" I got in my car and took off.
Anyhow, I got my phone. All is well.

People are jacked to be this upset over a material object. But then again, if they had caught you, you would have deserved it.

you deserve to be lynched.. you're a liar, you cheated, and it is really really pathetic that you think you did a great thing, by blatantly lying your way into getting your iphone..
awful!

Watch out for the guy that went home empty handed! he's gonna be on your a$$ :D

Jul 11, 2008, 01:54 PM
...and what makes you seem to think that you are more important than the rest of the people who waited there before you? You were completely inconsiderate and I really hope it catches up with you one day. Shame that society is being over-run by people like yourself that feel you are owed something or are so much more special than anyone else.

did you slide across the hood of your convertible ferrari, then give a knowing smile to your model girlfriend who was waiting patiently in the seat beside you before peeling out and rushing away to save Vegas from a terrorist plot?

Man some lady at the Black Friday Best Buy tried to pretend she had to use the bathroom to cut in the front of the line. I would have equally been pissed.

Why is he an ass?
The untrained clerk who gave him the iPhone is the ass.
This is TRULY a HILARIOUS story LOL. I'm glad you got away!
I can't stop laughing, what was going through your head as you ran and the mob ran after you?

Lol! If you did do that, that's fuuunny. At the end of the day, it's the mindless employee's fault, not yours. Anybody who worked in there with any sense would have sent you to the back of the queue. And to the person who said you deserved to be lynched - shame on you! Lynching, by the very nature of it, is a crime, and harmful. Jumping a queue to buy a phone is not.
Of course, the OP could be 12 and winding us up.

Congrats Mr 1 Poster.
It's not his fault the store didn't have a system setup to ensure this didn't happen.
It's an object not worth getting THAT worked up over. Sure it would have sucked for the person who waited in line, but the store DID decide to sell him one, the store could have checked if he was in line and said "Sorry you have to wait in line"
I would have done the same thing because the events transpiring after that would lead to some nice litigations from everyone involved and I would be a very rich person. Assault, Battery, Destruction of Private Property, and I'm sure a decent lawyer would come up with a few more.
Is it worth all that?
Someone getting that worked up to the point of Mob mentality over something as silly as this for one needs to complain to the store for selling it him, and secondly needs serious counseling or better yet, a good flogging.
Of course, the OP could be 12 and winding us up.
That's why I said Mr. 1 Poster. I don't believe it personally but as he mentioned in his post the mentality of the people that chased him (whether fake or not) certainly exists by looking at some of the responses above.

What a dick move, someone who waited in line isn't going to get an iPhone because of you now.
Still, funny haha

I call total BS as none of the Apple Stores are selling anything today but iPhone 3g's.

Gotta say...you're evil for doing that. But I salute you!
You thought outside the box and conquered!
Apologies to the people who didn't, but hey...first to the counter, first served right? :P
Kudos.
Now stop hatching evil, flawless but enjoyable plans!

Erm...BS. If I wanted a laptop from apple, I could get one from one of their retail stores today.
Though, i do have to agree. I think this guy made up much of his story! (Though, it were a good story)

Perhaps we all need a quick English lesson.
lynch - verb - (of a mob) kill (someone), esp. by hanging, for an alleged offense with or without a legal trial.
Looks like acceptable use to me.

believe it don't believe it... I don't care. I am in line at the Charlotte Apple store and they are not letting anyone in the store but 3g customers who are in a VERY long line. The only other business they are doing is one Genius Bar guy outside the store.

Isn't that from the game "outrun" that used to be in the arcades ages ago? Haha.

Yes. **** personal responsibility, eh?

Congrats Mr 1 Poster.... I don't believe this story either, especially the people chasing him to his car.
I think it was probably posted as a joke and to bring folks like yourself out of the woodwork who obviously have no moral sense whatsoever. A typically "American" story dare I say.
... It's not his fault the store didn't have a system setup to ensure this didn't happen. This is the same dumb, faulty logic that all criminals use.
It's the same as: "It's not my fault the door/car/wallet was left unlocked/on the dresser, etc."
While the original post might have been a joke or an exaggeration you would actually do this wouldn't you? And think it was okay?
Bah!

Well if it's just a story, than it's funny. If it's true, well lucky I wasn't there. I would have caught you and taken the phone and slammed it repeatedly into your head.
But that's just me. I'm pretty non-violent.
Oh and the political correctness nonsense does need to die a quick speedy death. If this is what we can expect from four years of the Obamination, it's time to leave the country.

Yes. **** personal responsibility, eh?
I'd have loved to see him get caught and beaten.
And if this story were true I would have loved to have seen/read him/her sueing and putting every one of the persons involved behind bars and getting rich off them.
**** personal responsibility you say? Same goes true for the mob mentality (if this story were true) and judging by some of the responses of some ppl here I would say if it were me, I would be one rich individual and everyone in line would be waiting several years to get an iPhone.
Bottom line is in a situation like this, everyone has a choice, but only one person had a responsibility, the store clerk. The store clerk had the responsiblity to direct the person to the end of the line.
The purchaser had the choice to do the right thing, or be sneaker and the mob has the choice to goto jail or just suck it up.
This is the same dumb, faulty logic that all criminals use.
It's the same as: "It's not my fault the door/car/wallet was left unlocked/on the dresser, etc."
While the original post might have been a joke or an exaggeration you would actually do this wouldn't you? And think it was okay?
Bah!
ME? Honestly no. That's rude even for my tastes and I teach my kids better than these types of actions. I also teach my kids the proper definition of lynching but that's a different story (thank gawd for the ignore poster option)
It's not logic, it's choice, the person chooses to be an a$$ and did what he did (theoretically) but yes, I would more blame the store clerk for letting it happen.
