I just got a MBP on tuesday and I have a ram question

I was advised to not buy the 4gb ram upgrade from apple because I can get it for cheaper.

I have been searching newegg and I am not sure what is and is not compatible with the MBP.

That looks compatible. Generally, newegg is a great place to buy computer stuff; they're pretty cheap.

You'd be best off buying RAM that's guaranteed Mac compatible. Both OWC and Crucial are reliable sources for Mac memory.

Crucial's 4GB kit isn't too shabby price-wise, either.

I went with 4GB of Patriot Memory from Newegg since it was on sale at the time. I've read that Patriot Memory can be hit or miss, but I've had no problems on my MBP.

Funny you should ask about RAM, when I was just reading the Mac Guide page on that very subject! Very helpful!
