Does anyone regret choosing black over white vice versa?

I am still debating which color I should get. I am leaning towards the black 3g but because of the amount of articles claiming what a finger magnet it is, it has torn me into pieces. Any help?

Get white, cause if you do get sick of it, it is easier to get a black case for it than it is to get a white case, PLUS the white is SICK and i don't regret getting it at all!!!

I got black, Prolly wished I had gotten white, but Its not a big deal because I keep it in a case, so it makes no difference...Maybe if I ever have a problem with it, they can replace it with a white one

wow, more people liking white than I thought. I went in there thinking the white looked pretty dumb and was definitely going to get a black. then I saw someone come out of the store ahead of me with a white and felt even better about my decision. the white just didn't look good at all to me. I'm absolutely loving my black 16GB... so sleek and sexy.

I will add this, though. When I first picked up my black one the fingerprints stuck out like a sore thumb. but after you handle it for a bit, you only start seeing slight smudging which isn't noticeable at all from maybe a couple feet away, so it's not a big deal at all. I did see someone get the incase protective cover or whatever it's called (they got a black one for their white iphone, go figure). that looked pretty nice and seemed to have a pretty snug fit. part of me thinks I'd like a little bit of a more sure grip on the phone since it is pretty slick, so I may get one of those down the line (black of course)

I really thought bout getting a white one, but seeing how scuffed my macbook gets I decided against it. The black is a fingerprint magnet though. The phone does feel a whole lot less slippery though compared to the original.

Black with a clear skin on it would look glossy & stunning 24/7 with no prints.
White with a clear skin on it would attract dirt around the edges.

Black - sexy, stealthy, cool.
White - cute, 'pretty', giant Chicklet

Nick - Your picks don't show the pop of the logo on the black. Nor the white writing which I felt stood out more than the black's rear writing/text.

i love my black iphone. I only got 8GB but if i were to get 16GB (if i needed it) i would have got black. I just like it better. I also have that sweet gel case from incipio and its great! feels great in the hand and also now it doesn't matter bout finger prints and stuff like that.

Personally, i use the black. Black will always stay black, but white could fade over time and shows dirt. I also have mine in thise gel case that feels pretty awesome.

Overall, if you're a girl i'd get white. If you're a guy, i'd get black.

I have a black iPhone but the photos of white look amazing to me.

Much more unique and it looks cleaner and sleeker to me!

I will check out the white in person tomo at Apple and see what I think.

I put an invisible shield from the first iPhone on my 3G and although it keeps the back clean and protects it from scratches it has actually reduced how cool the phone's back looked "naked" it was so shiny and reflective and that is now gone with the invisible shield!

I got the white but I think the black looks better overall with the chrome bits. So, I sort of wish I had gotten the black... The white back on its own looks great but I don't think it works with the black front and the chrome frame. Maybe if it was just white and black, without the chrome, it would look better? As it is, the white back alone doesn't flow visually well over the entire phone... Am I crazy for thinking this? :)

My and my wife had decided (prior to launch day), that she would get white and I would get black. When we got there, the white was STUNNING!, I really regretted making that deal, but we did want to get 2 different colors, since we charge our phones right next to eachother and I dont think I could handle going to the gym and finding out I have her showtunes instead of my music :)

even though you could really get it hurt and dinged, i think the old metal casing is the most elegant and attractive one. the new ones are more prompt to be scratched and with time i think black or white, they will look awful. that is what apple wants you to do. change your phone every 2 years. it is convenient, no?

Well my first gen looked like crap as scratches on the aluminum case look awful. I think plastic one will look better in the end but we'll see.

As for everybody buying every new gen... well I guess it already happened :)

I had the 1st gen, and liked it, but the plastic back is not cheap at all, shaped better for the hand and doesn't feel as slick like you are going to drop it. I like the new version much better.

Yes, that's what bothers me about it. The black/chrome/white look. Too much going on and it just doesn't seem to go together right for me. As a whole.
I think white on the front would be a disaster and bad for viewing vids, etc. Distracting.

All I know is I like both better than the 2-toned Silver/Black 2g (and shape)
I'd be curious as to what age range prefers which color. My guess is very young = white, older = black.

At first I was leaning toward the black, but as I saw more and more pics I started leaning toward the white. When I was the 5th one in the store on Friday I ended up going with white one and I am really happy with my choice. For me the black is very nice and sleek looking, but the fingerprints would drive me nuts. I like the white and am hoping it will not get dingy..but if it starts to get dingy, we all know it will not be too long before another iphone launches :) :apple:

When I was in line to buy yesterday, they came out and announced that they only had 8 GBs and 16 GBs in white left, so I let that make up my mind. After I'd already been charged, the guy next to me was offered a black 16 GB; apparently there were 3 left after all. I talked myself into having them exchange my white one for a black one.

Even though the white one looks a little hotter now, both my original iPhone and the 3G get very hot, especially when watching video, and I don't want a yellowed iPhone ala the white MacBook.

I was about #35 in line on Friday. By the time I got in, all they had left was white. I DETEST white, but I bought it anyway. Well, I gotta tell ya, I am really liking it! I can't believe it. black makes the device look more slim than it actually is, but white makes it seem bulky. that's just how it is. that's y i regret getting a white iPod when the black one seemed so much more slim.

the more i see the white the more i like it. when i went into softbank today to try and see if the had any, they had a black one on display and it looked filthy. i hope that they have a white when the finally have some, but truthfull i will take whatever is available

I still hadn't decided between black and white when I walked into the Telia store at 3am friday morning here in Stockholm. Many in the line were going to get the white one while I had originally intended to get a black one however all the talk about white ones made me think twice. As soon as I walked into the store, a Telia rep asked me what colour and size I wanted and with which contract so I had to make up my mind on the spot. I went black. I love the look of the black but still wonder if I made the right choice. It does attract a lot of fingerprints and lint is very easily seen on it. Still, I think black looks cooler. Ugh! I'm still second-guessing lol!

well i finally just got mine here in Japan. the selection here is very limited but i go 8gb black one. i really wanted the 16gb white one but they said mid August is when they will get more, so needless to say i scooped up the black 8gb when i had the chance. i don't regret it but i do still want the white one so i asked if i could exchange it when they got more and she said maybe so we will see. otherwise, i mean my last iphone was only half full anyways so i dont think i really "need" 16gb.
