Please don't continue this petition, Apple will probably just give us 2.0 free because of the delays, if 2.0 is launched anywhere after 11:59PM PDT.

Ok, ok. I know. Apple won't take any notice and this isn't a real petition. To be honest I'd pay double the price just to get it now. But hey, it would be nice to get it free, wouldn't it?

Apple doesn't OWE any of you. ANYTHING.
Does the iPod touch you purchased still work the same way it did the day you took it out of the box? If you can answer "yes" to that question, then shut up, push back from the keyboard and go do something productive with the rest of your day. Apple will get the 2.0 update to everyone when they can, and all this whining and gnashing of teeth won't speed up the process by one single minute.
Damn. It's not oxygen, folks. It's a SOFTWARE UPDATE. Get some perspective.

Are you kidding me? Because of ONE DAY of delay, you want free stuff? Listen to yourselves, honestly. It was your choice to sit at the computer all day and do nothing because of some software. I agree, I'm disappointed, but if you're actually serious about a petition it's pathetic. Maybe if a week passes and the update isn't available? But ONE DAY? Come on now, that's immature. This is one major screw up Apple has made in a long time.. we all do, so let's not become self-centered, and think it's just about us.
However I do agree, just because of a simple server issue it shouldn't take 24 hours, but I really have no room to talk as I only know as much as everybody here knows, and that's that there is a server issue. If you know more please DO tell.
But come on, 1 day= let's whine and complain, and ask to get the update free.
Sorry if this offends anyone, it's completely my opinion.

I don't exactly NEED the update as some users have hinted at, but I have already purchased Super Monkey Ball and Texas Hold 'Em in anticipation, expecting to get the update sometime today. As of right now, I'm still getting errors. But, in my case, I'm going on vacation all of next week and am leaving at noon today. I will not be taking my computer with me, since its a desktop, so if I don't get the update by then im gonna be pissed.
OH and btw, I called Apple Support, the guy I talked to was very nice, and said its just because there are hundreds of thousands of people trying to download it every 10 seconds. So, even with Apple's huge operation, their servers are a little overloaded. Plus, they have their new MobileMe service up, and I imagine a lot of iPhone users are trying to get that up and running. I expect the servers to be back to normal by Sunday or Monday (at latest), because by then I think everyone will have had the chance to download it, or just given up.
Thanks for listening to my two cents.

I agree with this. I suppose it is a little unfair to ask Apple for free stuff because of a delay. And no, this isn't really a serious petition, just asking people for their opinion. Let's all just hope it's soon-ish!!

AHAHAHAHAHA
As soon as I was about 90% done downloading the torrent, the iTunes update started working! I am now downloading it! I'm so happy!
Everyone else try it now, the servers are probably cooled down a little.
