O2 Pay As You Go

I've given my old iPhone to my Dad, and I've erased/sync'd/activated it through iTunes, and his O2 PAYG SIM works fine in it - on everything but GPRS/EDGE. The settings are there and correct in Network/Cellular Data, but I don't get a GPRS/EDGE icon or anything, and it won't connect to anything when not on WiFi.

Can anyone help?

I think the settings for contract are different from those for pay as you go.

Thanks, I've looked through everything on the O2 site - I changed the cellular data settings to payandgo.o2.co.uk, payandgo, password, but still no data!
