Will HF2 and similar first-gen iphone headsets work on 3G?

I have an Etymotic HF2 headset for my first-gen iPhone (and love it - planning to write a review shortly.)

I am wondering - all this talk of the "new jack" has me concerned. Will my HF2 work properly in the new 3G jack if I upgrade to the new iPhone?

Just wondering if anyone out there knew - my searching has not been fruitful.

Have both 3G iPhone and Ety HF2. Works absolutely fine, just like it does with the first gen iPhone.
