Yesterday night I updated to 2.0 and today i synced and then immediately after wards when i tried to open a downloaded app it would open and then immediately crash. I then attempted a restore. I walked away from my comp (emac g4 with usb 1) and when i came back i got this error message my iphone shows the usb cable>>>Itunes and i can only do emergency calls.

I had this same error with my new 3G phone and Google came up with nothing.
Eventually, with a combination of restarting my computer and restarting the iPhone I got it to connect without problems. Once I left it plugged into the computer while restarting. This made it take about 2 minutes (with a spinny white screen) to start my computer up but after that the iPhone connected fine...
I know that's not much help, but that's what worked for me.

Sweet! I was getting this same error after restoring to 2.0.2 (pwn'ed) on my first-gen 16GB. Restarting the computer (G5 iMac) with the iPhone connected worked like a charm. Thanks!
