Battery Indicator Problem or Bad Battery?

My phone was charged last night and all throughout this morning it was reading a very full charge. Went to use it just now and it's DEAD (big battery on screen show no charge with the power icon next to it).

I figure 2 things here: firmware glitch . . . or . . . a defective battery. It's charging now (and I'll let it fully charge) and then we'll see what happens.

Anyone else with "strange" battery issues?

I had a similar experience. Nothing insightful to report. Only happened once so far. Make sure checking of email is manual, especially overnight if not charging then.
