I tried your link in google reader/address bar and it didnt work. I removed the feed part of the link to get it to work if anyone is having problems

webobjects.mdimension.com/iPhoneApps.rss

How does this app work? Is it up-to-date from some kind of server, or is this someone manually updating the list?

Just curious ;)

Hmm, hadn't thought about that.. If I can work out where the info is coming from I may look into writing some sort of Jaiku/Twitter announcing system.

Good Question!

Edit: Could just use that RSS feed to announce stuff, of course....

I tried this but couldn't get it to work with google reader. Can you explain exactly what to do? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Goto http://reader.google.com
click on "Add Subscription"
put "http://webobjects.mdimension.com/iPhoneApps.rss" into text input that appears
click "Add"

I think it needs a description of the app not just the name and price but o well at least its something.

Also the Icon the app has in the app store would be nice.

The Icon thing isn't possible, I was considering submitting a comment to each post with a summary.. Maybe later, I'm watching Street Wars now ;-)

Edit: scratch that, can't submit comments via Jaiku API and posts are limited to 140 characters.
It's more intended so you can be alerted to a new applications (sms/jabber) and look it up in itunes/on your iphone.

It updates once every 4 hours. So it's possible that there are BRAND new apps that come out that aren't in the feed, yet, but you should probably relax if the 4 hour window is too much :)

The app that generates the feed parses the XML pages coming from the iTunes Store, so it's "real," and not just me typing that junk in. It pulls the "All iPhone Applications" page, then for each app, pulls the individual app page so it can get the app description and merges it together into a single RSS feed.

This is a great app! I love how it pulls the info directly from the iTunes App Store. I added it to my reader and will definitely enjoy using it to get updates on new applications.

I'm not sure if you're still working on it, but is it possible to include the screenshots in the post? No big deal if not since you can click on the post title.

Thanks for doing this!

4 hours is way to long this just will not do at all.....
